Protecting Minors
Who can play at Moose Jaw Casino?
Every player here must be 19 or older. There are no exceptions.
No one below the age of 19 may open an account, fund it, place bets or take up any promotion here. Any winnings collected by a minor are cancelled.
We only open accounts for people in areas that permit online gambling under their local laws. Canadian anti-money laundering rules, plus age and ID checks, guide how we operate, and keeping minors off our games comes first.
We also keep our own marketing aimed at adults. We do not design our games, offers or emails to appeal to children.
What can parents and guardians do at home?
Young people are often comfortable with technology, so a few simple steps at home make a real difference. Here are some ideas:
- Turn on the parental controls that phones, tablets, computers and game consoles provide.
- Install filtering software that blocks gambling sites.
- Use content filters in your web browser or your home internet router.
- If your family shares a computer, give each child their own profile and block gambling websites on it.
- Keep app store purchases protected by a password only adults know.
Talking helps too. Explain that casino games are for adults, that they involve real money, and that the odds always favour the house. Children who understand this are less likely to be curious.
How is a player's age verified?
When signing up, each new player must give their date of birth. Anyone whose birth date shows they are under 19 does not get an account.
Before a first deposit is taken, we confirm your ID and location, usually with an electronic check. When that check can't confirm everything, we'll ask for photo ID and other documents, as explained in our Anti-Money Laundering Policy.
The name on your payment method must also match the name on your account. If the two differ, we treat it as a warning sign and the deposit is declined.
We may run these checks again at any time, for example if activity on an account suggests a person other than the holder is playing.
How do I protect my account on a device others use?
Laptops and tablets often get passed around at home, and a logged-in casino account should never be one of the things a child can open. A few habits keep your account to yourself:
- Log out every time you are done playing.
- Turn off password and username saving in your browser.
- Protect your device: lock it with a fingerprint, a password or a PIN.
- Keep payment cards and e-wallet sign-in details somewhere others cannot reach them.
- Close the casino tab and clear your browsing history if others use the device.
Only you may use your account. Allowing another person to play on it, and in particular anyone under 19, is a breach of our Account Terms.
What do you do if a minor is found playing on an account?
We step in straight away if a player younger than 19 holds their own account, or if an underage player is using an account that belongs to an adult.
- That account is shut down immediately and will never be reopened.
- Any winnings are void.
- Once our checks are done, every deposit is refunded to its original payment method.
- We hand details to the proper authorities if we're legally required to.
If an adult account holder has let someone under 19 play, that adult's account is closed too, and any winnings made while the minor was playing are void.
If you think someone under age is playing on our site, please tell us. You do not need to be sure. We will look into it carefully and keep your message confidential.
How do I contact us about a minor?
Email help@moosejawcasino.app. Parents and guardians, please share any details you know, such as an email address or name that may have been used to register. It helps us find and close the account sooner.
